Front Chamber rubbing

ca. 1930s

Architecturally, the Front and Left Chambers are very similar, being larger than the Wu Liang Shrine and possessing more richly decorated recesses in their south walls. The most conspicuously similar motif shared by the Front and Left Chambers is the "Battle at the Bridge" scenes. It is generally accepted that the Front Chamber was dedicated to Wu Liang's nephew Wu Rong.
