Coiled tray

Coiled tray

Radial geometric designs, perhaps representing water, are interspersed with human figures and deer. The corrugated surface is due to the coiling techniques whereby thin bundles of plant fibers are wrapped in a continuous coil and fastened together using willow for stitching, with black designs created from devil's claw seed pods.
