Label TextThe most striking Chinese export tureens are those modeled on animal forms like geese or ox-heads, all having natural features painted with persuasive colors. The decoration of this set features bright colors and rich motifs that give a sense of exuberance. The broad-leaf pattern, also known as the tobacco-leaf design, is especially popular on Chinese export porcelain of the late eighteenth century.
