Tankard

1893

Tiffany & Co.

New York, New York, founded 1837

This tankard takes the form into the 19th century. Tiffany’s records give the name “Son Chow” to this tankard, which with the lush decoration shows America’s fascination with things exotic. This showpiece was created for the World’s Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893.
