Robert Rauschenberg

American, 1925 - 2008

In 1969, the artist was invited by NASA to Cape Canaveral to witness the launch of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. The successful first manned flight into space was broadcast live on television and viewers around the world could see Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the moon. This print, from a portfolio of thirty-four prints, commemorates that unforgettable moment.
