Dance Rattle
Date20th century
Label TextHollowed gourds clicked against each other to create constant percussion when this accessory was worn by women. Long enough to be placed over the shoulder, across the chest and under the arm, this strand uses imported glass beads to space the gourds just far enough apart that they clash against each other with every movement.
