Dance Rattle

20th century

Instead of the natural materials of gourd and sisal seen in the adjacent shoulder strap from the Akamba, this one is made of all imported elements. Orange twine and a metal clasp form the basis for the belt which features flattened bottle tops from beer companies that are well known in Kenya.
