Label TextFive bats, symbols of the five blessings, surround the Chinese character for long life on this pair of carved nephrite table screens. The background pattern of interlocking swastikas, called wan in Chinese, is a pun on the word for "ten thousand," thus echoing the wish for blessings and longevity ten thousand times.
