Glass cooler (seau à verre)
Dateca. 1730-40
Label TextIn the glass cooler, decorative traditions of East and West meet. The influence of dehua wares is seen in the pierced rock with chrysanthemum decoration on porcelain that has been glazed but left in the white. The shape, the bold, reed-like gadrooning, and the grotesque heads forming small handles derive from European metalwork.
