Label TextTypically associated with wishes for longevity, the Eight Immortals carved in relief on two sides of this square-shaped water pot are legendary beings associated with Daoism. The eight figures can be identified by their attributes, from the bare belly of Zhong Liquan, to the female He Xiangu with her lotus blossom. The Immortals are often depicted in mountainous landscapes among other motifs for long life, including pine trees and fungi, cranes and deer.
