Kevin Cranmer

First Nations, Kwakwaka'wakw, born 1968

Kevin was born in Alert Bay and traces his ancestry to the Kwa Kwa Ka wakw people
and to the Tlingit. He was first trained by his cousin George Hunt, Jr. He later worked
with Tony Hunt Sr and Jr as well as Calvin Hunt. He later worked with Tim Paul on large
monumental sculptures with Tim Paul at Thunderbird Park at the Royal British Columbia
Museum. He has been initiated into the Hamatsa society. He has worked on large
poles for Stanley Park in Vancouver, the Museum of Civilization in Ottawa among others.
