Ross Hunt, Sr.

Born in 1948, Ross is a member of the Fort Rupert band of the Kwagiulth nation. He

credits his elders and family for his artistic inspiration. His father, the late Thomas Hunt,

was a singer and orator and his mother was an instructor in the teaching of the

Kwagiulth and West Coast culture. Ross apprenticed under his uncle Henry Hunt and

with Tony Hunt at the Arts of the Raven Gallery. He has worked with Calvin Hunt, John

Livingston and Richard Hunt. He lives in Fort Rupert.
