Calvin Hunt (Tlasutiwalis)First Nations, Kwakwaka’wakw, Kwagiulth/Nuu-chah-nulth, born 1956

Calvin was born in 1956 in Alert Bay, the son of late Kwaguluth chief Thomas and

Emma Hunt of the Nuu-chah-nulth which gives him the distinction of ancestry from both

the Kwagiulth and Nootka nations. As well as being an accomplished performer of the

Kwagiulth Winter Dances, Calvin has also carved extensively with his uncle Henry and

Henry's son, Tony Hunt. He currently lives in Fort Rupert and owns with his wife Marie

the Copper Maker gallery in the Fort Rupert area at Port Hardy, a carving studio

founded in 1983. Calvin is the younger brother of Eugene, George Sr and Ross Hunt

Sr. The Raven is the main crest of the Hunt Family.
