Label TextHolding a dagger and standing before a woven mountain goat wool robe, this warrior is outfitted with a shirt and headdress befitting his status. Warriors were said to have strong spirit powers and were feared because of their supernatural gifts. When Curtis took this photograph, chiefs and leaders fighting for aboriginal rights were referred to as modern warriors.
