Bowl and cover

Date18th-19th century
Label TextThis lidded brass bowl had a shining surface after it was casted and polished but turned black after long exposure to the air. Its form resonates with that of 15th-century porcelain lidded bowls, yet its minimalist style could be mistaken as a modern design.
