Raven brings light to the World

Maker Don Yeomans First Nations, Haida, born 1958
Label TextYeomans has given us a sleek, compact, and oh-so-contemporary design of Raven. It’s like that “What’s in your wallet” commercial, only this time chic Raven clutches a modern version of the Box of Daylight, which, according to oral traditions, held the moon, sun, and stars. He’s confident and in charge, having successfully cajoled this treasure from the hands of a great chief. Trickster and culture hero, Raven releases the celestial bodies into the dark sky, thus providing light for humankind.
