Label TextYun Yong-gu was a high-ranking official in the court of the Joseon dynasty (1392–1910). After the Japanese annexation in 1910, Yun lived a seclusive life in the mountains as a protest. His paintings of bamboo, orchids, rocks, and landscape signal his resilience as a scholar-gentleman.
