Jar

Date5th-6th century
Label TextThe exposed interior of this jar’s mouth and its shoulders feature a dripping, green natural ash glaze. The jar’s shape and the placement of its lugs are similar to jars excavated from two tomb sites in the areas of Gimhae and Busan. This helps archaeologists attribute it to a late 4th-century maker working for the ruling Geumgwan Gaya Kingdom of the Gaya Confederacy, which controlled the south-central area of the Korean peninsula from the 1st to 6th century.
