Label TextA doucai ("joined colors") design is outlined in blue, then glazed and fired, and finally filled in with enamels over the glaze to be fired again at a lower temperature. The technical difficulty lies in obtaining both the brilliance of colors and maintaining an accurate demarcation between the underglaze-blue and overglaze enamels.
