Carved pendant

Date18th - 19th century
Label TextTwo badgers are opposite each other, foot to foot, a doubling emphasized in the change in color of this single stone. The word for badger, huan in modern Chinese, is used as a pun for the phrase "to be happy" (also huan), so two badgers can cleverly imply "double happiness" (shuanghuan).
